Linda Van Gilder KelleyCharlie Pavek adopted the name, Cascade Mountain Ranch, for his Thunderbird house and land, earlier owned by Apperson. After the Kelleys purchased Vagabond Ranch around 1989, Charlie and Ronnie Pavek held a portion for a time until they sold it to the Kelleys.

Where Bill Meets WillowOne of the most inspiring places at Vagabond is the place where Bill Creek and Willow Creek meet. As to the bench, Charlie would jokingly say, “If it doesn’t move, paint it red.”

1952 First RanchersAn American Boy’s Summer Vacation - The link at the top of the Home page describes this photograph at Hill Cabin - Marlo Thomas’ co-star Ted Bessell was one of the first ranchers along with the author Retired Admiral Bill O’Donnell, pictured far right, who twice to visit the Comptons, most recently in October 2021, after Eno had passed.
Porter Rathmell Henry Porter Rathmell, 1946-1970, a beloved staff member at Vagabond during the Charlie and Ronnie (Veronica) Pavek era, was killed in Vietnam.
